Yorkshire Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250gm) plain flour

  • 1 cup (250gm) whole milk

  • 2 Eggs

  • Olive Oil

  • Cold Water

Overview

This is a non traditional Yorkshire pudding recipe cooked in olive oil to get real golden and crispy.

It should be fluffy inside, crispy outside and real tasty.

Timeline

Batter must be left to stand for 20 minutes.

Cooking time of 20 minutes

Notes & Toppings

  • Can be made in a pancake shaker for ease

  • Addition of the cold water before adding to oven increases the water content to create steam flash on cooking creating the crispy\fluffy texture.

Method

Basic process is:

  1. Mix 1 cup (250gm) Milk into the 1 cup (250gm) Flour gradually with spoon.

  2. Whisk 2 eggs and add to batter.

  3. blend mixture with a stick blender (or in the pancake shaker)

  4. let batter stand for 20 minutes.

  5. add small amount of olive oil to yorkshire pudding tin (eg: Muffin Tin), and heat at 200c Fan Forced for ten minutes

  6. Just before adding Yorkshire pudding batter to Yorkshire pudding tin, add a small amount of cold water to the mixture and whisk.

  7. Add batter to approximately 3/4 height of each section of the Yorkshire pudding tin, cook for 20 minutes.
